Sibylle Schlaich
Sibylle Schlaich is a designer and co-founder of the Berlin-based agency Moniteurs Kommunikationsdesign, which specialises in wayfinding. A particular focus of the work is the development of pictograms.
Since 2024, she has been an honorary professor of signage and spatial communication at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar. She has been teaching since 2000, including at Leibniz University Hannover, the University of Art and Design Halle, the Bauhaus University Weimar and as a visiting professor at the Chinese-German Art Academy (CDK) in Hangzhou.
She is co-author of the publications Airport Wayfinding (2021), The Evolution of the Elevator Pictogram (2019), 1:1 – Signage, Orientation, Identity (2013) and Look Book Information Design (2008). In 2025, her article Gender-Neutral Pictograms against the Background of Isotype was published in Wissen für Alle.
